Silva is thus in limbo, just like No. 1 contender Yoel Romero, a 40-year-old monster of a man who probably deserves a title shot more than anyone else because he’s on an eight-fight win streak. With Gastelum out, the two men make for natural opponents at UFC 212 in Rio de Janiero, but Silva doesn’t want to fight for peanuts. Given that the two Brazilians arguably deserve title shots before St-Pierre, Silva thinks they should fight for an interim title or they shouldn’t fight at all. And if the fight doesn’t happen, Silva is prepared to walk away from the fight game for good.
